Travelling in a caravan or motor home to discover all the wonderful places around Australia is an amazing adventure. Are you travelling now or plan to take off soon? One seasoned traveller of 30 years told me this, “If you have an antenna with a booster, you have to make sure power is getting to the booster to make it work properly”. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. And that is it in a nutshell.
We ALWAYS like to hear from users of the Saturn Antenna. It is much better to solve the problem while you are travelling rather than wait till you reach home 2 weeks/2 months/2 years later. There is nothing more frustrating for you than to have to endure an antenna that is not working. And there is nothing more disappointing for us to have someone call and say, “We have been travelling for 9 months and the antenna has never worked.”
Two customers were very lucky that we met them on the raod. We were able to stop and work out their problem. In Renmark, one customer had a 12volt problem. No power was reaching the antenna. This is an your first port of calls for someone who has noticed that the Saturn Antenna not working.
Check the INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE ANTENNA, COVERED BY A BLACK RUBBER BUNG (All antennas made since May 2010 have a clear inspection hole – NO rubber bung). A GREEN LED LIGHT WILL BE VISIBLE IF THE BUNG IS REMOVED AND THE ANTENNA IS HOOKED UP PROPERLY. IT IS SIMPLE, IF THERE IS NO GREEN LIGHT, THERE IS NO POWER TO THE ANTENNA.
12VOLT MUST GET TO THE SATURN ANTENNA FOR IT TO WORK!
It is then necessary to track back where the 12volt is failing – the plugs on the cable attached to the antenna? The cable itself? The TV sockets on the van? The power supply? The 240volt point or the 12volt point? Each of these points needs to be checked. Once you have tracked where the fault lies and repaired that point, the antenna will once again start working.
