Operation is quite smooth with the 3.7 inch touchscreen display. It also features a 8 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus to guarantee some really good picture quality. We would have appreciated the presented of a Xenon flash though. When it comes to connectivity the Omnia HD will provide you with both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. All in all it’s quite an attractive phone that is going to find its fans.

The third Samsung phone that is worth considering is the Omnia II. The most interesting fact is undoubtedly its processor which guarantees some pretty good performance. The Omnia II uses the Windows Mobile OS giving you access to some interesting applications. When it comes to connectivity this Samsung cellphone provides both a Wi-Fi and 3G connection to suit any needs that you may be having. Buying Mobile Phones Online

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Cell phones have become such a fixture in our lives nowadays that it’s difficult to imagine leaving our houses without one. Cell phones provide us with a measure of security, an assurance that if we ever need to call someone, then he or she will just be a press of a button away.

Of course, mobile phones also provide us with a lot of enjoyment, especially since the new models are practically all-around multimedia machines. They don’t just allow us to talk with other people, they’re gaming consoles, music players, video cams, and web browsers all rolled into one as well. And as time goes by, the list of features cell phones have only gets longer. It’s no wonder, then, that people upgrade their mobile phone models all too often. There’s just always something new in the market that becomes an complete must-have for cell phone owners. And the best place to look for upgrades is undoubtedly the internet.

Advantages of Shopping in the Net

Indeed, it’s no secret that the internet is practically the biggest and most complete shopping mall in the whole world. You can find anything you want in the internet, from ancient coins to the newest versions of mobile phones. It’s also where you can find the newest information about the items you’re planning to buy.

And what’s best is that you actually get to view the opinions of actual customers. This means that you’ll have access to uncolored reviews of people who actually used the phone and are not out to get you to buy so that they could get a commission. In fact, most of the time, you’ll find more data in the internet as compared to the sellers in malls. It’s much better to shop online rather than to waste time and effort in going to the mall just to make a purchase.

Where to Purchase for Mobile Phones

But where exactly in the web should you shop? Well, it depends on what you’re looking for and your budget. The top shopping sites in the internet are undoubtedly Ebay and Amazon. If you have a small budget and are looking for cheap used mobile phones, then Ebay would be perfect for you. On the other hand, if you want a brand new mobile phone, then you’re better of with Amazon.

Ringback Tones Are Still Growing

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Ringback tones – this is the new cellphone customization craze of the 2000’s. If you’re a cellphone user, there is little chance that you haven’t already heard of them. What I’d like to do is give you a couple of ideas about how you can have fun with ringback tones on your cell.

One of the funkiest things that I’ve found for customizing my ringback tone collection is audio clips. These are not just a music clip of a pop hit currently making the rounds on the radio. Audio clips can add a lot of variety and imagination to the dead air time that your callers would hear if you didn’t take advantage of the ringback service.

The best audio clips that I have found are old, some would call them retro, classic comedy routines. This is just perfect for me, and I get a lot of comments about them when I answer my call. In fact I get a lot of call backs with people wanting to hear the end of the monologues.

More typically, music clips will be the sound of choice for the majority of customers using ringback tones. If you spend any time searching the web for cool stuff for your cell phone, you’ve no doubt seen the endless ads for current R&B and pop hits downloadable as ringtones. Although not as prevalent, ringback tone selections pretty much echo the commercially available ringtone collections. The great thing is that the cell phone carriers stay up to date with current music releases, since obviously these are hugely popular.

Outside of the current pop-charts, if you are still more a music person than comedy or audio, there is bound to be an extensive selection you can choose your ringback tones from. Even if your musical taste is eclectic or obscure, the music libraries of cellphone carriers is quite extensive, and is updated regularly to cater to all sorts of different musical tastes.

In order to get the ringback tone to play for your caller when they dial you, you will need to go through your cellphone carrier. The easiest way is to use the web interface, where you can browse, preview, and order the ringback tone or ringback tones you want on your cell. Unfortunately, there is no way for you to upload your own tones, which also means that the possibility for you to upload free ringback tones is also out. Regardless of that, the fun ways that ringback tones allow you to customize your cellphone for your friends and relatives is still worth a few bucks to me, so you know that I’ll keep using them. Well, that is until the next fun cellphone customization thing comes along.

Stopping Viruses from Attacking Your Cellphone

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Cellular phones have evolved from mere tools where you can place a phone call to anyone even while on the go or you’re far from home. Today, they have become sophisticated communications tools that enable the user to make a mobile call, send emails, chat via IM and surf the internet.

Suffice it to say, it has become your all-in-one communications accessory that can make life easier for you particularly if you are forever on the road or are not stationary in one place for a long time.

STOP VIRUS ATTACKS IN THEIR TRACKS

Unfortunately, sophisticated and technologically-advanced it may be; there is still no fool-proof way to maintain its good condition for a very long time; much less keep it running as smoothly as if it were new, for many years. There are several factors that can render any cellphone useless and worthless; not least of these is the common problem that often creeps up on computers and laptops – viruses.

In fact, the more sophisticated your cellular phone, the more vulnerable it is to viruses if you’re not careful. But just as there are external factors that may immobilize your cellular phone; there are also ways we can do to prevent these viruses from corrupting our cellphone systems. As with most anything, prevention is better than cure.

This being said, it’s so much the wiser to have your cellphone protected immediately. Luckily, there are already anti-virus programs that are compatible with cellular phones so you should definitely check these out and have one installed before turning on your Bluetooth or surfing the internet.

GET THE MOST RECENT UPDATES

The way you protect your computer from viruses applies to cellular phones too. Also, find out the most recent viruses that could harm your cellphone – you could find a list of the most recent viruses online. Lastly, never ever open anything in your mail that you’re not familiar with. If the sender is unknown to you, it’s best to delete the file immediately.

It’s also good to get all the latest news regarding your cellphone especially those that have anything to do with the OS you have installed in your phone. This will help you to get the most recent applicable security as well as give you a better idea of how to protect your cellphone from viruses that could corrupt your phone.

Keep Your Sanity While You Compare Mobile Phone Deals

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

With advances in mobile phone technology happening on an almost daily basis, you could go crazy when you start to compare mobile phone deals. Mobile phone networks, telephone companies and cell phone manufacturers are in hot competition with each other. You, the consumer, should shop around for the best deal, but how do your narrow the field?

Decide what the purpose of your mobile phone is

Mobile phones can be like toys. You don’t really need all the features they have but they’re so much fund to have. This philosophy is Ok for some but savvy consumers will determine their needs and buy accordingly. Those in business who regard a mobile phone as a necessary tool may need to receive faxes when they’re out in the field and a good keyboard that’s quick and easy to use. Data plans and phones that provide excellent video quality are good for people who have long daily communities, allowing them to watch newscasts or to be entertained on the train. GPS features on a cell phones give parents peace of mind, something that money just can’t buy. Camera phones may be a necessary option for you. Decide how that phone is going to work for you.

Your budget

Two things vital to consider when comparing phone deals. What’s your budget to buy a phone and how many minutes can you afford to buy every month? Those plans that provide a phone for no-charge with the purchase of a contract aren’t really free when you think about it. However, if you need a new phone immediately, this type of contract could work for you. Pay-as-you-go options can be super affordable but may not provide as many features as you like such as voice mail, call waiting and data capabilities. With companies jumping through hoops to get your business, you could get a screaming deal if you spend some time shopping around.

Spend your time as wisely as your money

Now that you’ve decided what you want your phone to do and how much you can pay for your monthly service, it’s time to compare what’s out there in the market place. Many networks have store fronts in your local mall, but save yourself the gas or bus fare and shop online. The internet is the world’s biggest virtual mall, where you can shop, compare prices and even switch over to a network with better prices. Your local networks will have their own website but there are many websites that exist strictly for comparison purposes. They’ll list types of phones, features and price points offered all over the internet.

Get questions answered quickly

When comparing mobile phone prices and services, a good price comparison website should have an Ask The Expert page where industry professionals can answer your questions. Not sure what a reasonable tariff or network charge should be? There should either be an FAQ section or a page to post your question for others to respond. Another convenient and smart feature of many price comparison websites is a glossary of mobile phone terms to help you decipher cell phone jargon. Do you know the difference between a 1G and 3G phone? What’s a dual-band phone and what exactly is Bluetooth and what does it do? Get this information as you navigate your way through the web.

If you’re the type of shopper that likes to go to the store and hold a product in your hand and test it out before you buy, you should still do some online homework before venturing out. This will help you make an informed, educated decision while saving time and money when shopping for a mobile phone.

What The Heck Is a Droid Phone? And Which One Should I Ask Santa For This XMas?

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Verizon’s newest entry into the very competitive smartphone market — the HTC Droid Eris — was introduced last month with a provocative new ad campaign dissing the iPhone. But is this cool gadget for real, and should you believe the hype calling it the “iPhone Killer?”

While I can’t imagine that HTC will steal millions of loyal iPhone customers from Apple, it does show off the superiority of Google’s open-source android operating system. Also, this little beauty is absolutely loaded with features and apps that you won’t even find on the new (and pricier) Motorolla droid…making this $99 Eris droid the best value around in a smartphone — hands down.

This means that even in a slumping economy, for under a hundred bucks you can still give a tricked-out smartphone as a gift this Christmas.

HTC really loaded this new droid with plenty of standard apps, features, and mobile services courtesy of Google…Here’s just a few:

1. With the 5- megapixel camcorder on the back of the device, you can shoot a video, send it to your friends, upload it to Youtube, and and view it on the 3.2 inch high-resolution screen in seconds.

2. The Eris droid has lots of custom apps that come standard, many (like the Twitter app) which you will only find on this phone…You can also stop in at the Android Market (think Star Wars) to download thousands more for your new smartphone.

3. The Eris is Bluetooth and WiFi enabled, which gives you many options in term of connectivity. And with Google Maps installed on this droid, this phone doubles as a GPS device too.

It’s great that the HTC includes “Multi-Touch” as a standard feature on all their smartphones these days, and the Eris is no exception. This is a user-friendly interface that gives you “pinch and zoom” capabilities in the browser (and it’s a feature that isn’t included on the new $200 Motorola droid!).

Smartphones are notorious for killing batteries, but I’ve had no problem with the Droid Eris. The specs say that a single charge will give you 3 1/2 hours of talk time on the Droid…In my experience I would say that this is a conservative number. I haven’t had it quit on me yet during the day, and I’m on the phone quite a bit at work.

My only beef with the Droid Eris is a small one: It would be nice to have a physical keyboard on this phone, but maybe I’m old school. The virtual keyboard featured on this device is actually lively and responsive, and nicer than many other phones with “real” keyboards.

At the end of the day, HTC’s Droid Eris is a super little device: is boasts a beautiful interface, superior fit and finish, and tons of standard features and extras. And you will have a very hard time finding a droid with comparable features for under $100 this holiday season.

Don’t make these 3 mistakes when you purchase your next android phone…Get the skinny from Dave before you buy right here.

Innovations on Cell Phone Technology

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Just a few decades ago, people were lugging about bulky behemoths that barely deserved to be called portable phones. Those phones were far too troublesome to really use on a regular basis. These days, however, cell phones have become so small and so slim, that it sometimes becomes hard to use them. It’s almost absurd.

But of course, there are various sizes available for everyone. And now you can choose what’s best for you. Indeed, a lot has changed since cell phones were first released. And even now, more and more developments are being made and they are changing the way we live our lives.

High Speed Internet Access

Cell Phones now have the capability to access internet. This makes it incredibly easy to gain information. It literally gives a whole new meaning to the term, having the world at your fingertips. Mostly, the more advanced the phone is, the better it can present the internet. No longer are we confined to looking at text based web pages on are phones. We can actually watch videos on our mobile phones these days. The cell phone has turned into a very powerful tool for information collection that will only become more sophisticated as more research is done.

Multimedia Tool

One of the things that played a large role in revolutionizing the role of mobile phones is the installment of various multimedia gadgets into its makeup. First and foremost is the camera. Once people were able to start capturing pictures, it became easier than ever to record events. This became especially pronounced when, not long after, video recording was also included. And then, mobile phones also turned into music players. All of a sudden, CD players and other portable music players actually became obsolete. After all, why should you carry around all that extra bulk when you could have it all on your cell phone?

Mini Tracking Device

Children are now experts at using cell phones. In actuality, many children as young as 4 or 5 are being given with cell phones so that their parents can contact with them anytime and anywhere. But now, with the help of GPS, parents can track their children’s location whenever they want. Also, when the kid feels that he is in potential danger, he can just push a certain button and the parent will be automatically informed.

You can learn much more about cellphones on the Internet. A good place to start is the website Mobiltelefoner about the latest cellphones and the amazing functions they have.
