Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Everyday you hear about a new cell phone service trying to offer deals to the consumers. We are a cell phone nation and some need to save money on service. There are many to choose from, all differ from cell phone company to cell phone company. It is somewhat necessary to look for discount cell phone service when it comes to saving money on the cell phone bill.

One way to save money is to buy a pre paid cell phone. These phones require the occasional fill up with extra time and minutes. This is pretty handy when an individual does not use the phone much, therefore, not needing a cell phone plan with a lot of minutes.

A couple of things should be considered when using a prepaid phone. Check to see if the company charges a daily amount, usually around a dollar or less, to keep the phone activated. They will charge this amount whether the phone is being used or not. This is not a good plan for those that do not use the phone because their time will expire very quickly. The amount charged per minute should also be known before purchasing the phone. Prices differ from phone to phone.

Another way to save money is by purchasing a family plan. This is usually when family members get a phone and share the monthly minutes. This can save money on phones because many of the phone companies will discount the price after the first phone is paid for.

Another way many people save money is by purchasing a two year contract from a phone company that will give them one of the hottest selling phones at that time. This will lock in a price and contract for a given amount of time, usually a couple of years. This is a hard contract to break, costing the owner of the contract to pay a couple of hundred dollars to break it.

There are many other deals that can be found on the internet. Just about every cell phone service company will find a package and phone that will suit your needs.
