Many times we have had phone calls where we could not see the number of the person calling. There have also been times when the caller ID was from overseas and when it was answered a local accent was on the other end. These are what are commonly referred to as spoof calls.
These spoof calls work in much the same way as the spoof email that we often receive whereas you think they are coming from one party when in fact they are coming from somewhere completely different.
The most common spoof calls are to keep your number and ID a secret from the person you are calling or to make the recipient see somebody else’s number when they check the caller ID. It is even possible to use a number that does not exist for this purpose.
It is said that the voice can also be spoofed in such a way that a man can sound as though he is a machine or even a child or woman on the other end of the line which may sound to be a fun way to prank people.
So how is this done? Well one way to do this is to buy a card that is currently available from online stores. The card works in a similar way to a normal VOIP card and can cost in the region of $10 for about 60 minutes call time. Once you have the card you can actually customize it so that the person receiving the calls only sees the ID that you want them to see.
This concept is good if you are a business that does not want their phone numbers freely available to the public for some reason. But the good is far outweighed by the bad I am afraid with this system as unscrupulous people can use these to their own devious ends, such as impersonating somebody else’s voice in order to gain access to the mailboxes of the said people.
Even more serious is the fact that people could use these cards to make people think that they are contacting them from their bank. With this kind of trickery the caller could in effect get the persons personal details or bank details in order to swindle them out of their money. They could also be used as a tool for panicking people with bogus calls.
So even though it may sound fun to make prank spoof calls it can also be very serious too with very serious consequences.

Let’s write a short summary about this great technology (CD) that changed the technological world in first years of 1980.
First we talk about CD-Text, an extension of the Red Book specification for audio CD that allows for storage of additional text information on a standards-compliant audio CD. The information is stored either in the lead-in area of the CD, where there is roughly five kilobytes of space available, or in the subcode channels R to W on the disc, which can store about 31 megabytes.
Then there is the CD + Graphics, a special audio Compact Disc that contains graphics data in addition to the audio data on the disc. The disc can be played on a regular audio CD player, but when played on a special CD+G player, can output a graphics signal.
These graphics are almost exclusively used to display lyrics on a television set for karaoke performers to sing along with. The CD+G format takes advantage of the channels R through W.
The CD + Extended Graphics is an improved variant of the Compact Disc + Graphics (CD+G) format. Like CD+G, CD+EG utilizes basic CD-ROM features to display text and video information in addition to the music being played. This extra data is stored in subcode channels R-W. Very few, if any, CD+EG discs have been published.
The Super Audio CD is a high-resolution read-only optical audio disc format that provides much higher fidelity digital audio reproduction than the Red Book. Introduced in 1999, it was developed by Sony and Philips, the same companies that created the Red Book. SACD was in a format war with DVD-Audio, but neither has replaced audio CDs.
In contrast to DVD-Audio, the SACD format has the feature of being able to produce hybrid discs; these discs contain the SACD audio stream as well as a standard audio CD layer which is playable in standard CD players, thus making them backward compatible.

The new Silverado (redesigned GMT900 generation) earned the North American Truck of the Year award for 2007 and was Motor Trend magazine’s Truck of the Year for 2007. Like its predecessors, the new Silverado offers buyers a choice of two door regular cabs, four door extended cabs and four door crew cabs with the rear doors opening in the same direction as the front doors.
The Generation III small block V8 engines offered in the GMT 800 trucks will be replaced in the GMT 900 series by the Generation IV small block V8 engine family, featuring upgrades such as increased power and Active Fuel Management on the 5.3 L and 6.0 L V8s. A new high performance 6.2 liter V8 was introduced with the 2007 Cadillac Escalade and 2007 GMC Denali line, and is now available on the Silverado LTZ trim line. This addition now makes the Silverado/Sierra trucks the most powerful half-ton trucks available. After skipping the 2008 model year, with 2007 being the last for the GMT800 hybrid line, a two-mode hybrid model has been introduced in late 2008 as a 2009 model.
The majority of the GMT 900 trucks continue to be equipped with the four speed transmission that was found on the GMT 800 platform. A more modern 6L80 6-speed transmission is standard equipment on the GMC Sierra Denali and the similar 6L90 is standard in all Heavy Duty models. As production capacity is established, 6-speed transmissions are expected to replace 4-speed transmissions on most truck models in coming years.
There are two dash options offered in the new Silverado and Sierra. A luxury-inspired dash that closely mimics the dash in their GMT900 SUVs, and a “pickup” dash that is more upright to make way for a passenger seat in place of a center console.
Silverado LT/LTZ models underwent a subtle facelift for 2010, including LED headlamps, revised door trim, and shinier chrome on the grille; all Sierra models were left unchanged.
