Economic Strategies And Global Alliances: Meet The New Machiavelli

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Today, companies are truly moving forward or crumbling, there is no in between. I hate clichs but this is reality. By now, unless you’ve been living in a cave you’re highly familiar with the successes, failures and genius of global securities guru Warren Buffet and monopoly mastermind Bill Gates. They’ve changed the face of business and all who come to the scene now seem to be some morphed hybrid of the two as neo consultants and corporate strategists draw their inspiration from all or a portion of ideologies and processes originated from these two men.

They’ve introduced a side to acquisitions, mergers, globalization and monopolizing markets that university business professors and modern day corporate leaders were blind to but now a sub industry has been introduced based on the theories and concepts of these entrepreneurs. As a freelanced writer and ghost writer for blogs, journals, newspapers and other medias I spend my life researching the ‘next great thing’ and in this case of spend years researching the next international economic trend setter, rule breaker and the one individual that will do the impossible, merge economics with politics in a socially positive and economically responsible approach.

We all know that money is the driving force behind politics but no one has been able to blatantly stand in front of a room of American and European economists and trend setters and actually prove the ability to formulate real, publicity friendly strategies for actual domestic and global alliances between major economic powerhouses and international political figureheads, lobbyists and special interest groups. But last week my search ended when I was having drinks and a small out of the way hotel in the Washington DC suburbs of Alexandria, VA.

Let me walk you through my experience. I was meeting a lobbyist for Israeli affairs to get some insider information and quotes for an article I’m writing on the Palestinian/Israel conflict and my source agreed to meet me for a few minutes before another meeting he seemed to be pretty excited about. We sat down and the first thing that took me back was this gentleman, an extremely renown strategist for all things ‘lobby’ as he’s called on specifically when governments or other lobbyists are in crisis management mode. As we were sitting down he said, ‘Here you sit there and I’ll sit here, I don’t want to be late for this meeting as it will dictate my firms survival in the near future’ as he said this he seemed nervous. We sat down at two armchairs in the lobby so that we could talk and view the guests for this insider’s meeting as they came in.

As it got closer to 9pm (the time the meeting was to start) I witnessed some of the most influential senators, congressmen, ex-presidents and prime ministers and other major lobby group senior partners, not to mention CEO’s and CFO’s that I’ve only seen on TV and read about in Fortune and other business journals that have turned down my work in the past (I’m not bitter…ok maybe I am). At this point I knew something was up so I asked my source if I could join him and I’d do the note taking so all he had to do was sit and listen as none of his staff was with him to take up this task, he agreed.

As the meeting was ready to start I found myself in a room with 50 of the most prestigious names in politics and some of the most pedigreed men in business (strangely there wasn’t a single female in the room which I didn’t realize until I looked over my attendance notes before writing this freelance entry). The room was nothing but an ocean of whispers and head nod greetings and I truly felt as though I had stumbled upon some Bilderberg sub-group or illuminati think tank meeting. Above the whispers I kept hearing one word ‘Machiavelli’ but there was no tongue and cheap grin after the name, these men were using this name with curiosity and absolute awe.

The meeting was called to order just like a traditional board meeting and the ’speaker’ was introduced, James Scott from Princeton Corporate Solutions. I heard of the company but never the name of the individual. As he was introduced everyone sat up straight then leaned in to hear what this guy had to say with the focus you would if you believed you had the winning lottery ticket at the number announcement.

James came from the back of the room to the front. He stood there in front of a room of political and corporate masters and I could see the reality and truth in everything that I’ve ever heard about an invisible puppet master behind every face of a political, Fortune 100 CEO/Board and special interest group. As I’m looking at him I’m looking at the men in the room and feel myself getting whiplash as I’m trying to put the pieces together. Turns out James Scott has been the strategies consultant to some of the biggest moves in recent global economic and socio-political history. He’s assisted these men with getting elected to their positions via multiple indirect ‘cat’s paw’ consultants and this was actually the first time many of these gentlemen have actually met him though he’s created and perpetuated their careers.

As he spoke you could hear a pin drop in the room. This 30-something strategist could pierce the Berlin wall with the focus in his eyes. His voice spoke with the authority of a demigod with a hundred lifetimes of strategies experience with zero indicators of second guessing or insecurity in his voice. His posture was Napoleonic and each time he would mention one of the attendees by name they would crumble and blush like the child of a father praising them for a job well done.

As I began to recuperate from this mind warp I felt a nudge from the lobbyist I was accompanying and he motioned a pen to pad gesture which indicated that I was to get down to taking notes. The meeting came down to introducing economic and influential political contacts to one another as both sides were delegated a particular task. This was the first time that I’ve ever witnessed someone of influence offering a strategically entwined relationship between business and the legislators who directly influence the outcome of business decisions and vice versa in a way that wasn’t damaging, lopsided or with a critical ulterior motive that would injure one side while serving the other.

Here is what I took away from the meeting in short, as I’m trying to condense a 5 hour meeting into a few paragraphs, basically impossible but let me try though the attempt to assimilate this information in a way that is conducive to getting my point across which may be fatal from the onset but I’ll give it a shot.

The approach by James Scott was entirely Machiavellian in nature with the realities that in order to serve the greater good, some contributors fall to the wayside while others are part of the future picture and overall stratagem. Some of the people in the room were tacticians while others were affiliated because they were strategists. The difference between the two in this case were the tacticians were those in the scholastic/analytical field of a lifetime of memorization of previous policy contributors while the strategists were the facilitators of those formulaic tactics by adapting policy and scholastics to the real world environment and current events.

Corporations create the jobs that fuel the local economies which collectively can turn around a domestic economy. Politicians are assisted by lobby organizations and special interest groups in gaining a platform which brings with it the followers that will vote to keep them in office to perform the tasks that will assist in the greater good and put into action the ideas and concepts of the lobbyists as the lobbyists are the ultimate voice of the people. This circle of influence is what fuels economic prosperity and lack of communication between these groups can deteriorate an economy (basically what we are seeing now). The path has been deviated one too many times and the convergence of policy makers and facilitators has been derailed and we find ourselves in international chaos at every front.

This meeting cracked through, captured and set a road map for economic recovery by taking into consideration all the elements and parties as pertaining to this recuperation equation. The incestuous necessity of voter spearheads, legislatures and corporations is a mandatory prerequisite to a growing and stable socio-economic formula that will rebound and flourish. I must admit, the above is a pathetic Cliff Notes version of the meeting and it would take multiple encyclopedia size entries to even attempt, though most likely fatal, to give the reader a modest breakdown of the influential decisions that were made in that room and the positive path we set for real, long-lasting recovery.

As I left the meeting there was a sense of overall ease and a refreshed outlook on the future and for the first time in a long time I actually felt good about the outlook of this country, the west and the global strategies in motion and being configured to make this world a better place for all of us and all this rooted in the strategies formulated by a guy you’ve never heard of and a company you probably couldn’t hire even if you wanted to. It’s a strange world we live in but thanks to leaders such as James Scott (I’m currently researching him and will post more entries about him and his background as new information is made public) who would rather focus on a positive influence then standing in front of cameras as self promoters we will evolve out of this diseased global situation and into one that flourishes for all of us.

Thanks for reading For Public information about James Scott and Princeton Corporate Solutions click here and some Great Information on our global economy more on the above article to come.

Advantages Of Global Expansion – Benefits Of Global Expansion- Brand Expansion

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Corporations of all sizes and genres are finding themselves in the difficult position of expanding as a mandatory necessity as opposed to solely building value as a part of growth strategies. If you find yourself in a position which makes globalization a requirement for survival here are a few things to make the process easier.

When taking your company from strictly a regional or domestic entity and trasnfering your energies into an international formula there are 4 basic elements that you should take into consideration before doing anything: corporate infrastructure, brand, distribution and capitalization.

Corporate infrastructure as far as management, divisions, subsidiaries etc are the first step to planning your expansion. First, cut the dead weight. Management must re-interview for their jobs, divisions and subsidiaries will be eliminated, merged or kept as is. Take into consideration the need for minimal input and maximum output. Where are your highest profit margins, what employees offer the most expertise for the least financial outlay? Make sure that your corporate structure is conducive to scalability and is streamline enough to be considered ‘lean and mean’ in every sense of the term.

As far as your corporate brand you’ll take the foundation you’ve constructed up to the present and infuse it with a plethora of strategic alliances both inter-industry and outside of your immediate industry. Piggyback off of the successes of partners, team up on announcements using various press release and news release vehicles and make it every executives job to be on the lookout for ways to merge and create relationships with other companies with the same goals.

Just as with your corporate infrastructure your distribution process should be perpetuated and expanded with minimal input and maximum result. The best way to do this is to create tight strategic partnerships at both the corporate and legislative levels. Teaming up with companies that are already established distribution mechanisms in the global marketplace and creating win/win situations will make growth via alliances quick and easy. Offer them an exclusive distribution on a new cutting edge widget or service that your company is offering. Offer them some free promotion by including them in your media package or publicity submissions. At the legislative level this is most important in industrializing nations such as China, India and western Europe. In these regions politicians act as powerbrokers for commerce and getting in with them can be vital to creating long lasting and profitable localized strategies and relationships.

Lastly, capitalization is the most crucial of all elements because without it, none of the above can be facilitated. Maximizing profitability without sacrificing quality, customer services or turnaround time is the name of the game. Cutting costs internally is typically what needs to be done here as well as minimizing marketing and promotional costs by streamlining your efforts with joint promotional ventures and the above described strategic alliances.

Take Company Public And Stay Away From Politicians: Like Spiders Spinning Cocoons Around Your Kids

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

When I turn on the TV I’m bombarded with images of senate hearings, global finance leaders, hedge fund CEOs and of course the do nothing politicians we pay to protect us. And when I see them now, I no longer see them as humans like you and me. They are an entirely separate specie. Worse than vampires they feed off of the existence of you, me and our children.

These power players are nothing more than spiders spinning cocoons around our souls and sucking the life out of us all. Before your children have a chance to choose an occupation, university or spouse, these cancerous imps have already begun to roll your child in a paralyzing cocoon tomb where they will proceed to slowly gnaw away at their very essence.

You and I are to blame because we just sit there and watch the idiot box while it all happens. The same banking institutions that are taking our tax dollars to fund multimillion dollar CEO salaries are the ones we go to in order to cash our weekly paychecks. The same crooked, do nothing politicians that rob us blind and are on the take are the people we vote for to keep in office. Wealth management advisers that we trust to take our money and invest so that we can live a few years after the government is through with us are brokering their fund to Madoff con artists and back stabbers.

We say we want change, we though Obama was it but it’s obvious he’s just another hand puppet whose actions are paid off by special interest groups and big oil imps. If you’re a business owner and are serious about change, take your fate into your own hands. When you are looking for funding, stop using banks and institutional succubi.

Take your company to the people with a private placement memorandum or take your company public on the OTCBB. If you have a good business model, then raise money by allowing the populace to profit off of your process. You’d be shocked how quickly you raise money when you offer opportunity to people who are looking for it.

Ipo Investors, IPO Investor & IPO Lists

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Investors who are able to achieve higher yields on their investments take a different approach to growing their portfolio than most. Of course they use a broker and/or investment adviser for information on transactions but will typically make their investment decisions based off of their own collective research.

The reality is the few that have gained a comprehension for seeking out and getting involved with trades that open the floodgates to massive profits use their own money and operate as part of a small, tight knit group. The members of this ‘group’ always have their feelers out like tentacles sucking up and analyzing potential transactions, immediately looking for strategic elements and immediately dumping 99% as they don’t meet the criteria.

Two major components that professional investors who use their own money and are able to consistently pick winning transactions are companies that are in merger and/or acquisition mode and companies that are seeking seed capital specifically to go public.

Let’s focus on the latter. Companies seeking seed capital to go public are often financially viable companies with modest liquidity but are taking on seed investors so that they can meet the SEC minimum criteria of having 40 investors on the books to qualify for going public. Investors that are able to, literally, make millions per transaction have a way of getting into these opportunities by connecting with consultants who take companies public. If you are able to get involved with these consulting firms and if you have some capital to designate as a seed investor, you can literally be placed in 4,5 or even 6+ pre IPO investments per year. When you are one of the 40 investors in a pre public OTCBB corporation you are usually investing seed capital at a fraction of the future public price. The difference between what you pay for the seed stock and what the company charges per share when public is the profit.

It isn’t at all out of the ordinary to buy seed stock at 50 cents and have that stock gain in value of $1.00 to $1.50 when the company goes public and yes, you just made 50 cents to $1.00 net profit on each share (note: seed prices and opening prices vary). The great thing is you can often invest as a seed investor with as little as $5,000 to $10,000. If you have more capital you can spread it out over multiple pre-IPO opportunities. Seek out the pre- public companies and make your investments worth

Solar Panel Manufacture – Solar Panel India – Solar Panel – The Importance Of ‘Swagger’

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

I’ve been involved with more mergers and acquisitions and IPOs than I can even count. I’ve been called many names when I’m getting involved with corporate turnaround consulting but the most common of these terms are: arrogant, cocky and hardheaded. I take these names as a feather in the cap and a notch on the belt because the worst thing that can happen is that a company or board of directors hires a wimp or pushover. Having swagger when walking into a negotiation session or presentation makes all the difference. Refuse to lose and have the contacts to back up your moves.

CEO’s and executives take note…it’s ok to be cocky of you can back it up with performance. My clients love me. The people on the receiving end of my firm’s negotiations hate me (until they hire me on their next project). My hate of losing exceeds my love of winning and I’ll never stop until the clients pull me off of the project or until the transaction is done. This mentality is a must for today’s executive and corporate consultant.

I’m not saying this to impress anyone or to get more business. I’m trying to express to new CEOs of public companies and pre public companies that you have to be fierce. When you step in a room everyone has to feel it. Your presence has to be loathed by some and the epitome of curiosity by others. Keep them guessing.

Demonstrate loyalty to your client and make competitors fear being on the receiving end of your attention and above all, be calculated with your moves and stealthy with your strategy. Don’t speak until you can level the room with what you have to say and understand the reality that for every action there will be a reaction and for every strategic move you make on your clients behalf, there will be countermeasures taken by the opposition.

It’s ok to stay up at night distracted by ideas that will press the throttle peddle on behalf of your client. It’s a forgivable sin to force-feed strategies and alliances to your client that will help them get a competitive edge over their competition. And above all remember this, at the end of the day in global commerce the winning side achieves more than domination but the ability to keep and create jobs and grow through acquisition which creates more jobs and profitability. Arrogance and the refusal to lose is the beginning of this entire process. Get it or get out!

Institutional Bankers Political Blood Letting And The Demons Beneath Your Bed: It’s More Real Than You Think

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Think back to when you were a child and your imagination was developing? You’d hear a bump from your closet or your eyes would play tricks on you as you swore you could see something slithering under your bed when the hallway light was turned off or when you’d creep, with back to the wall to the bathroom in the middle of the night and you could feel the energy of something staring at you from the opposite end of the hall’s expanse, you look up and sure enough you’d see a cast shadow made visible by the glow of a full moon peering through the window.

These recollections make us laugh as we mature and realize that is a perfectly straight forward reason for that shadow or rattling pipe etc. But this day in age it’s no longer the spooky ‘Scooby Doo’ style ghosts and goblins that haunt the dreams of our children. Instead, it’s the reality of state Marshals and Cops breaking into their home in the middle of the night to enforce a foreclosure eviction or a politician signing a bill that will strip them of their rights or the reality that when they get out of college they will immediately have a multi trillion dollar bill to pay because of today’s liberal welfare and social security misspending by politician snakes that slither around their room at night just waiting for the right time, when their guard is down, to strike.

The nightmare for our children is no longer a figment of an overgrown imagination. It’s all too real. How can we bring that innocence back into the dream space of our youth? For starters, take control of your career, step away from large corporations and get involved with the entrepreneurial small and medium size businesses in strong growth industry such as: alternative energy, technology, global distribution facilitation etc. If you are a business owner, don’t hook up an IV to the arm of your infant and sell your soul to the devil by taking a loan to grow your business. Institutional lenders backed by crooked and unqualified politicians will see to it that your company can not meet the terms and your business expansion loan will go delinquent and the IV will star sucking the life out of your offspring and all the gifts of a profitable company yielding a good college education, comfortable transition from university into a career, help with a down payment on a home and other competitive advantages that you want to provide and that your children deserve will go up in smoke while the fat cat politicians and institutional lenders laugh at you and move on to the next easy prey.

Stop and think before you fill out that bank loan application. Don’t put up your home as collateral for a business loan. Don’t take away from your children what should be theirs. Instead, do what the wealthy do, grow your company by creating opportunity for others to make money off of your business concept and track record. Even if you’re a small business making $2M per year, you can take your company public on the OTCBB. The OTCBB (Over The Counter Bulletin Board) is the spring board toward the possibility of a NASDAQ qualification but not necessarily a mandatory move to grow your company. The OTCBB is a trusted, solid exchange with respectable and consistent trading volume where you have access to all the growth capabilities of the industry big boys. You can cross collateralize your securities so you don’t have to personally sign for loans, you can purchase companies to grow quickly using your stock as currency. Bring on prize executives to help you grow your company by offering them stock in the company as they reach certain benchmark goals.

Step away from government lies that will damage the future of your children and banking contracts that will almost surely crucify your company as it’s slowly sucked into Hades like a diamond sinking into a bubbling tar pit. Take your company public and take advantage of the massive success that you truly deserve.

Taking Company Public: What The Government Giveth It Will Surely Taketh Away

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

As the unfortunate recipients of a bastardized economy whose immediate future is as grim as the past two years there is a massive economic shift. Banks are crumbling towers of cards and executives in charge of this so called ‘rebound’ effort are about as qualified as a blind, deaf, mute, quadriplegic trying to win the iron man. In short, at this rate we’re in big trouble.

How ca a global economy prosper when we have intellectual midgets at the helm as nothing more than marionettes dancing to strings attached to the fingers of bureaucratic madmen controlled by power, greed and the need to dominate? The answer in short, take the control out of their hands and put it in the hands of the people. Companies need to stop looking to the government and bailout legislation for assistance.

“What the government Giveth It Will Surely Taketh Away”. The government gives only to receive ten fold. Banks and institutional finance are under the thumb of the Federal Reserve, a private organization keeping the citizens of this country in debt with fractional reserve lending and FDIC criteria that turns well intentioned banks into armed henchmen.

The only way to step out and take control of our economic fate is to step out of the institutional mainstream and all things associated with the traditional ’system’. The best way a company can do this is by going public. Taking your company public allows you to take control of your financial destiny and take advantage of the OTCBB (Over The Counter Bulletin Board), London Exchange and Frankfurt Exchange. The NASDAQ and NYSE are great but flawed by institutional over involvement.

Align yourself with globalization consultants that can take our mid size regional company and transform it into a well oiled, economically viable international powerhouse. Going public can offer you the financial means to eliminate the fragility that automatically transcends into your business model when held hostage to the institutional mainstream. You have a great product or service, you have customers, go public and then go global. Nothing is holding you back from there. Your future is bright! Now get out there and make it happen.

Economic Debauchery, The Political Profiteer And The Devastation Of The Masses For The Profit Of The Institutional Few

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Yep! Quite a mouthful but let it sink in. The self proclaimed economic elite make rules and mistake that affect all of us, there only accountability is a quick senate hearing where they are interrogated for show and afterwards have champagne and cocktails in chambers and laugh off the comments of the day and plan their future hunting events in the Congo. I don’t find it comical that our domestic economy and power position is rapidly being exchanged for that of the third world or some obscure island nation whose major export is sand and debt.

Don’t you find it interesting that we as a country owe mountains of debt to a privately held organization called the Federal Reserve? Don’t you get angry when you see that the reason for this economic collapse was because the Fed started calling in debt from banks using their fractional reserve system of finance and that they were fully aware of the global repercussions of their actions? If you are losing your home to foreclosure have you taken a closer look at the process in which your bank acquired the funds to loan you the money and where you ticked off when you realized that there was no financial exchange at all only a transfer of numbers on a screen?

It’s time that everyone wakes up. When you have money in a top tier bank whether it’s a CD, savings account, personal checking account, corporate credit or if you have stock in a major bank, you are part of the problem because you are perpetuating the process so that the same establishment can take advantage of your children as they are taking advantage of you right now

Ditch that institutional bank stock and transfer your funds to your local credit union then take your company public or raise capital with a private placement memorandum so that you can help end the cycle of institutional and political economic abuse on our children and our children’s children.

Take the opportunity of capitalization of your corporate stock and offer it to the people. You’ll be eliminating the need for your lender to repossess your assets and creating massive opportunity for your company, employees and the people of this country. Just think about it.

Take Company Public: Understanding The Political Machine

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Our firm takes small companies and industry genre leaders public in the United States. We specialize in the OTCBB, A to Z facilitation as well as NASDAQ IR and strategies consulting. We work with global corporate entities from Greece to China, from South America to Europe. I say this not to boast or market myself but to give you some comfort that what you are about to read is based purely on experience and absolutely objective and if you are about to take your company public or trying to turn-around or restructure your public entity, this information will be of tremendous help to you.

I see companies rise and fall before and after the ‘going public’ process. Some companies have great ideas and constantly struggle, some are hardly worth their weight in pocket fuzz but thrive and to understand why we must step back and look at a public and pre public concept as you would a globe that you can set on a desk and spin slowly over and over again. Stand on the desk and kneel on the ground, stand on your hands if you have to and the point of this exercise is to look at your public entity from every imaginable angle searching for any and all chinks in the armor.

Think past the basics of going public. Any informed CEO, COO or CFO of a pre or post public entity will comprehend the basics: you’ll have a first round seed capital raise, you’ll need a solid board of directors and solid executives with an appealing pedigree, your company needs a viable and yes, ‘recession proof’ product or service. You need a solid pre public corporate publicity strategy to make your company stand out like a blinding beacon with strategies that wrap around the corporation as well as each executive to increase the market awareness of their existence in the industry power structure and of course you’ll need solid and massive post public investor relations to stabilize and grow that stock price.

Now here is something that you may not have taken into consideration but is a necessity to filling in the gaps of your corporate profile as well as strengthening those invisible inferiorities in the corporate armor. Political power structure contacts are a must. Yes, political in every sense of the word. I mean you need strong contacts in your operating country’s political electoral system of influence to gain access to those ‘no bid’ contracts. It’s a mandatory evil that separates the men from the boys. Get to know lobbyists, congressmen, political attorneys, senators and most importantly get on a first name basis with the direct executive assistants for each of these players as they are the ones that will make the introductions.

Your face needs to be seen in the papers and journals alongside of these power players. Your name needs to be mentioned in cigar filled rooms where these individuals congregate. Don’t think for a second that hard work, blood sweat and tears will get your company to the next level; it’s all about connections and the public conception of you and your company.

Simultaneously you need to take into consideration the social political conception of your company. Truth be told, celebrities and corporations get involved with charities and socially conscientious callings such as Poverty Awareness, Haiti Financial Assistance, African Relief and like strategies not necessarily because they have a spiritual awakening and want to make the world a better place.

These companies are piggybacking off of the free press and the social idea that free money to charity somehow justifies the means in which they earned it. Free handout charity affiliation has a way of wiping the slate clean and telling the public that if they buy your product or use your service they are, in some strange way, making the world a better place and instantly something that was once considered a guilty pleasure (such as a $5 coffee and $8 scone from Starbucks) is now a socially responsible action because .02 cents per $20 net profit intake goes to pay for coffee beans that grow in a third world country that is trying to ‘get by’ and grow organic, whatever.

Going public is one thing, staying public is something entirely different, staying public and profitable is almost unheard of. Increase your chances of success by looking at all the angles!

OTC Bulletin Board – Over The Counter Bulletin Board

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Global finance is a convergence of polar opposites. It’s a hybrid element that is the result of merging bankruptcy and profitability and the infusion of the ethically inclined and the ethically obscene.

The obtuse minded institutional banking system and the endless motivational depth of the prototypical entrepreneur clash and a give and take, debt and debtor mentality evolves. This evolution results in the crisis of indentured servitude where the banks will give but will take much more.

The entrepreneur is often stranded without the means for economic defense in difficult times and the FDIC backed lender moves in to take assets whose value are derived by number crunchers in a backroom and the bank’s corporate headquarters.

Business owners will often sign their lives away in order to obtain modest loans and lines of credit, the financial equivalent to signing your soul away to the devil in blood. As a globalization consultant I am constantly hearing from small and medium size companies who have proprietary patents and technology and will put them up as collateral for financing.

I must admit, at times its tempting to facilitate a merger between them and an existing client that will result in instantaneous profitability and distribution for my client and the end for this uninformed startup.

If you are an upstart you need to evaluate your options before signing on that dotted line and giving up a pound of flesh. Banks should only be used as a last resort. Venture capital funds should only be considered if all else fails.

Your key to raising capital is to go directly to the public via vehicles such as a Private Placement Memorandum (Regulation D Rule 504, 505 and 506) which will allow you to sell stock in your company in return for capital and the ultimate in maximum capitalization would be to go public on the OTCBB (Over The Counter Bulletin Board), NASDAQ or NYSE. Even the London Exchange or Frankfurt Exchange are better options then institutional lending sources.

Taking your company public, growth through acquisition and merger and solidifying your public position with a hefty amount of corporate publicity and hardcore investor relations, this is what will get you to the next level.
