How To Sell Unwanted Mobile Phones For Money

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

There are lots of different questions that folk have when they first look into selling their mobile phone for cash. This article will hopefully answer a few of the commonest questions for you.

My phone is damaged, can I still sell it for cash?

Most phone recycling firms will accept damaged phones, but you should be prepared that you are going to get a massively reduced cost. In a number of cases if your phone isn’t working you’ll only get 10% of the quoted price which could mean that it’s not worth the time to sell it and you are better off just recycling it for nothing.

How is a damaged phone defined?

When you try and get cash for old mobile phones, different corporations will have different definitions of what a broken phone basically is. If your phone has a large amount of water damage or is physically broken in two then you most likely won’t be ready to get any money for it. On the other hand, if you’ve a phone that is in good physical condition yet will not boot up to the start screen you will continue to be ready to sell it for a lowered price.

How much do I get when I sell my mobile?

This is dependent upon a large amount of different factors like the type phone that you are attempting to sell as well as what condition it was in. When you sell your mobile phone for cash remember that there is a range of prices so it is sometimes a good idea to search around for the best deals.

Am I able to sell new phones?

Most companies will not give you a bigger price for a new phone making it not worth your while to sell it. However , you can find certain corporations that will give you a better price if you’re selling a new phone that is still in perfect condition. If this is the case though then you most likely shouldn’t sell it to phone recycling company but instead somewhere like eBay.

How long does it take?

Again, this depends on the company that you select although the quantity of time it generally takes for a phone to be inspected by a company and then either returned to you or accepted is roughly a week. You must then have the cash with you shortly after that. Most firms will supply a tenet of how long they generally take to get the money to you on their website.

For many people the thought of selling an old mobile phone may seem like a lot of hassle but it’s actually a lot easier than you’d think. Find out more by visiting dis-used mobile phones

Phones More Precious Than Men

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Phones More Precious Than Men. Boys beware! The latest survey shows that you are more disposable to the average UK female now, than their cell phone. The new study which was performed by Borro.com in conjunction with the Daily Mail shows that the British woman has a greater loyalty to there mobiles than their man.

A whopping 40 per cent of the 4000 women questioned by the survey stated they could not cope with the loss of their mobile phone, while only 33 per cent of women questioned claimed that they would not be able to get on perfectly well without a man in their lives.

Surprisingly cell phones were the only essential gadget for women in the UK, although guys proved to be more popular than other electronic devices such as Camera’s, MP3 players and laptop computers. The survey revealed the most important possession to a woman was her mother and then after that it was her photographs.

A worry for the beauty industry is that the study also revealed that women would rather ditch their hair straighteners and other grooming products than the use of their mobile phones. Proving that communicating with friends is more important that looking the part.

The Chief Executive of Borro Paul Aitken believes women place great value on the contents in the phone, rather than the features provided by the gadget, this is why the girls are so attached to their mobiles. The study also enquired whether they would dump there current boyfriends for a sum money and more than one third said they would do without there current beau for an amount of one million or more.

The value placed on a cell phone is related to the photos, texts and calls that make up a women’s social profile. These are incredibly significant to women and the potential loss of a cell phone would represent the loss of thousands of memories for most women.

Better news for us guys is that we are seen as more important than diamond rings, pets, laptops and hair straighteners. That is something I suppose.

HTC Touch HD Specifications

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Having switched from Windows Mobile to the iPhone nearly one year ago to the day I have been waiting for a device with a similar form factor without all the restrictions and frustrations that an Apple device brings along with it. Sure the iPhone does a fantastic job at making usability simple but with it comes a straight jacketed approach that really frustrates me. Welcome to the HTC Touch HD, can it live up to all the hype, is it really the device that can pull me away from the iPhone 3G and condemn it to my sock draw, read on to find out.

HTC’s Touch HD offers all of these ‘must have’ features. It is a large format device whose 3.8-inch screen dominates the front fascia. At 480 x 800 pixels there is no denying its has a super resolution and the accelerometer helps a lot, as the screen reorients when you turn the Touch HD in your hand. The device really comes into its own for activities like Web browsing and looking at pictures.

HTC Touch HD Features

* Connectivity: Quad-band
* GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHzWCDMA / HSPA: 900/2100MHz.
* HSDPA 7.2 Mbps
* HTC TouchFLO 3D with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
* Chipset: Qualcomm MSM7201a 528 MHz
* Touch Screen: 3.8 inch(480 x 800 WVGA)
* Camera: 5.0 megapixel with auto focus, Secondary Camera: VGA
* Memory: 512 MB flash; 288 MB RAM
* External Memory card: microSD memory card (SDHC capable)
* Wireless Connectivity: 802.11b/g
* Bluetooth connectivity: 2.0 with EDR
* Integrated GPS
* Battery Power: 1350 mAh
* Weight: 146.4 grams/5.164 oz with battery

The Touch HD’s design is completely centered on its large touchscreen. Basically, this device is a casing wrapped around a display. There are minimal hardware buttons, and most of these are actually extensions of the touchscreen. Even the traditional D-pad has been cut to make more room for the screen.

Looks like all that stands between the Touch HD and legend is the actual performance. A bold statement it is, so what we’re about to do is push it to its limits. An unforgiving spec sheet calls for unforgiving scrutiny. Join us as we set sail to explore the HTC Touch HD big sway and little secrets.

If you want the freedom that Windows Mobile gives you and can live with the interface then no question you will like this device, in fact I would go as far as to say you will love it. If however you want something that is easier to use but comes with a lot of restrictions then the iPhone may be a better alternative for it’s media prowess, it is for me for now anyway, until Windows Mobile 7 comes out and hopefully delivers the media experience matched to the already great business features with an easy interface, unless of course Microsoft surprise us all and embed the Zune software in the Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade, now that would make this decision one to revisit if a ROM upgrade would be available. Final verdict is the HTC Touch HD is a brilliant device let down by the same old Windows Mobile problems, if you can overcome them this is a fantastic device, make no mistake.

Nokia 5800 Price in India – Rs.13,800 Indian Rupee (INR) Or $294 USD

Now, you’re not the only one waiting for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. A legion of touchscreen phones have been busy delivering more and better, and owning that market. They sure won’t be giving Nokia and S60 5th the warmest of welcomes.

At this point, Nokia 5800 may as well be more of a trespasser than a worthy rival. We mean, stealing even the tiniest bit of market off such formidable competition should be a win to savor for every newcomer. And still, we shouldn’t be looking at the actual handset alone. Maybe the 5800 isn’t make or break for Nokia, but S60 5th should darn well be.

Acer F900 Features

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

The Acer F900 is bulky. Come to sheer size, even Notorious B.I.G. and Bizarre cant hold a candle to the Acers heavyweight champion. Speaking of the former two, we think Notorious the movie is shaking on full screen and we do recommend that you shell out a few bucks and go see it. Erm, what we mean is “normal” theaters with even larger screens than the F900, which also features an impressive display that measures 3.8 inches and comes with resolution of 480×800 pixels. It has really good sensitivity for a Windows Mobile device and we didn’t encounter any issues with it. Image quality is less striking, because colors don’t gradate smoothly, due to the limited color support – 65k and whats even worse, direct sunlight turns it into a flawless mirror. Thats how we, your humble reviewers, found out we in desperate need of a shave, although the phone failed to deliver any other useful information.

Acers smartphone range includes four devices as of now, with the F900 being one of the most technologically advanced of them. Its equipped with 3.8-inch WVGA screen and personalized Acer Shell running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. What is in the box?

On the matter of web browsing the F900 has Opera Mobile included and as you’d expect from the tried and trusted Opera browser, it does a decent job of rendering webpages, looking much like their desktop equivalent only smaller. Opera seems to be speedy enough though. However, one area that does cause a problem with Opera is the g-sensor or accelerometer. When you rotate the handset in your hands to a landscape orientation then naturally you want the screen to rotate to suit but for some reason Opera simply refuses to play ball most of the time which is quite annoying!

he Acer F900 is 12.85 millimeters thick, slightly bigger than the iPhone 3G’s 12.3mm, and measures 117.5mm tall by 63.5mm wide. Some reports have said looks a lot like Samsung Electronics’ Omnia. There is a resemblance, but the fact is many smartphones with large screens on the front look similar, and almost all are compared to the smartphone that initiated the touchscreen fad, the iPhone. The nice thing about the 3.8in screen on the Acer F900 is the sharp picture quality. The resolution on the screen is 800×480, which is the same as High Tech Computer (HTC)’s Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2, and better than the 480×320 resolution on the iPhone 3G. That’s a good thing, too, because you need a big screen with good picture quality for the Acer Shell user interface (UI).

An Excellence of Sony Ericsson – Aino

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

With 8MP camera, excellent sound quality and A-GPS with Google Maps and touchscreen control for your media functions @ attractive price Sony Ericsson Aino makes Excellent choice for users.

The Sony Ericsson Aino is a slider phone that had an entire room excited when at release, it claimed to have the ability to playback content directly from your PS3. But alas, it’s not the PSP phone; instead you get a very solid and heavily featured phone with the ability to access media anywhere.

While it’s never going to win the plaudits of the Sony Ericsson Satio, the Aino (pronounced I-no) is a very nice phone in its own right, and manages to edge above being simply solid into ‘impressive’ territory.

The first thing you notice is the weighty feel of the handset (as well as the startlingly dark hue the Obsidian Black is sporting, with your eyes feeling like they’ve been sucked into a vortex of mobile phone gravity). It’s a reassuring weight, with a button layout that will be familiar to a number of the Sony Ericsson fraternity.

What is bizarre is that while the Aino has a touchscreen, it only works in media mode, meaning we wouldn’t have known it was there unless we were told. It’s easy to imaging a number of people poking their phone normally to no avail and then being perplexed when the touchscreen fires up in media mode.

Sony Ericsson Aino Features:

* 8 MP camera * Traditional keypad and touch User Interface * Media Home and Media Go easy to transfer all your multimedia * Remote Play with PLAYSTATION3 * Listen to music in amazing quality * Matching Wireless Stereo Headphone MH100 and desk stand charger EC100

Sony Aino is available in two colours Luminous White and Obsidian Black.

Sony Ericsson Aino Technical Specification:

* GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) * UMTS / HSPA (900 / 2100) * 3.0? inch (432-240 pixels) Display * 8 megapixel camera with Auto Focus, face detection and touch focus * 55 MB internal Memory (Micro SD card slot) * Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g * a-GPS with Google Maps * Bluetooth with A2DP * FM Radio with RDS * Access NetFront Web Browser * 3D Games with Dedicated gaming keys * Email / Exchange ActiveSync support * 8.5 hours talktime on GSM and 4.5 hours talktime on 3G network * Weight – 134gm

Sony Ericsson Aino Price in India – 28,950/- Indian Rupee (INR) Or $615 USD
