I had used up a great amount of time investigating my internet connection and my internet quality situation before I came to the understanding that it wasn’t the ISP’s problem but that my computer was at fault. So I had a couple of problems – a sluggish DSL and PC.
What made this decision more not easy was that I usually had more problems when there had been a lot of rain and the ground was very wet. My DSL cable comes up to the house buried in the ground. So it never seemed to fail that after a big rainfall our service would be out completely or very slow. What I discovered was that this problem just made my situation worse, but was not the worst culprit.
The Internet Service Provider decided that they did have a problem and straightened it out. I think it was at a junction box out next to the road that was not waterproof as it should have been and was retaining water after a hard rain. Now cables get wet all of the time but, if I grasp it correctly, the water was a conductor to a small extent between lines at the connection box.
However, this wasn’t only the situation when things were wet but I would be having issues through dry spells – and we had certainly had a lot of very dry weather conditions. It was obvious that my computer was not working up to what it ought to be. One way of knowing this was that a different computer in the home, even though older and less power, was doing Okay.
After trying out a new computer virus program and also a new mal-ware software and that didn’t help much at all, I looked to the windows registry in my slow PC. The registry cleaner found in excess of eight-hundred errors and corrected them.
Honestly, I still had a little issue with reduced speed at start-up (that I later corrected) but the registry cleaning certainly helped. It is easy, fast and I can certainly vouch for it to everyone.
