Economic Strategies And Global Alliances: Meet The New Machiavelli

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Today, companies are truly moving forward or crumbling, there is no in between. I hate clichs but this is reality. By now, unless you’ve been living in a cave you’re highly familiar with the successes, failures and genius of global securities guru Warren Buffet and monopoly mastermind Bill Gates. They’ve changed the face of business and all who come to the scene now seem to be some morphed hybrid of the two as neo consultants and corporate strategists draw their inspiration from all or a portion of ideologies and processes originated from these two men.

They’ve introduced a side to acquisitions, mergers, globalization and monopolizing markets that university business professors and modern day corporate leaders were blind to but now a sub industry has been introduced based on the theories and concepts of these entrepreneurs. As a freelanced writer and ghost writer for blogs, journals, newspapers and other medias I spend my life researching the ‘next great thing’ and in this case of spend years researching the next international economic trend setter, rule breaker and the one individual that will do the impossible, merge economics with politics in a socially positive and economically responsible approach.

We all know that money is the driving force behind politics but no one has been able to blatantly stand in front of a room of American and European economists and trend setters and actually prove the ability to formulate real, publicity friendly strategies for actual domestic and global alliances between major economic powerhouses and international political figureheads, lobbyists and special interest groups. But last week my search ended when I was having drinks and a small out of the way hotel in the Washington DC suburbs of Alexandria, VA.

Let me walk you through my experience. I was meeting a lobbyist for Israeli affairs to get some insider information and quotes for an article I’m writing on the Palestinian/Israel conflict and my source agreed to meet me for a few minutes before another meeting he seemed to be pretty excited about. We sat down and the first thing that took me back was this gentleman, an extremely renown strategist for all things ‘lobby’ as he’s called on specifically when governments or other lobbyists are in crisis management mode. As we were sitting down he said, ‘Here you sit there and I’ll sit here, I don’t want to be late for this meeting as it will dictate my firms survival in the near future’ as he said this he seemed nervous. We sat down at two armchairs in the lobby so that we could talk and view the guests for this insider’s meeting as they came in.

As it got closer to 9pm (the time the meeting was to start) I witnessed some of the most influential senators, congressmen, ex-presidents and prime ministers and other major lobby group senior partners, not to mention CEO’s and CFO’s that I’ve only seen on TV and read about in Fortune and other business journals that have turned down my work in the past (I’m not bitter…ok maybe I am). At this point I knew something was up so I asked my source if I could join him and I’d do the note taking so all he had to do was sit and listen as none of his staff was with him to take up this task, he agreed.

As the meeting was ready to start I found myself in a room with 50 of the most prestigious names in politics and some of the most pedigreed men in business (strangely there wasn’t a single female in the room which I didn’t realize until I looked over my attendance notes before writing this freelance entry). The room was nothing but an ocean of whispers and head nod greetings and I truly felt as though I had stumbled upon some Bilderberg sub-group or illuminati think tank meeting. Above the whispers I kept hearing one word ‘Machiavelli’ but there was no tongue and cheap grin after the name, these men were using this name with curiosity and absolute awe.

The meeting was called to order just like a traditional board meeting and the ’speaker’ was introduced, James Scott from Princeton Corporate Solutions. I heard of the company but never the name of the individual. As he was introduced everyone sat up straight then leaned in to hear what this guy had to say with the focus you would if you believed you had the winning lottery ticket at the number announcement.

James came from the back of the room to the front. He stood there in front of a room of political and corporate masters and I could see the reality and truth in everything that I’ve ever heard about an invisible puppet master behind every face of a political, Fortune 100 CEO/Board and special interest group. As I’m looking at him I’m looking at the men in the room and feel myself getting whiplash as I’m trying to put the pieces together. Turns out James Scott has been the strategies consultant to some of the biggest moves in recent global economic and socio-political history. He’s assisted these men with getting elected to their positions via multiple indirect ‘cat’s paw’ consultants and this was actually the first time many of these gentlemen have actually met him though he’s created and perpetuated their careers.

As he spoke you could hear a pin drop in the room. This 30-something strategist could pierce the Berlin wall with the focus in his eyes. His voice spoke with the authority of a demigod with a hundred lifetimes of strategies experience with zero indicators of second guessing or insecurity in his voice. His posture was Napoleonic and each time he would mention one of the attendees by name they would crumble and blush like the child of a father praising them for a job well done.

As I began to recuperate from this mind warp I felt a nudge from the lobbyist I was accompanying and he motioned a pen to pad gesture which indicated that I was to get down to taking notes. The meeting came down to introducing economic and influential political contacts to one another as both sides were delegated a particular task. This was the first time that I’ve ever witnessed someone of influence offering a strategically entwined relationship between business and the legislators who directly influence the outcome of business decisions and vice versa in a way that wasn’t damaging, lopsided or with a critical ulterior motive that would injure one side while serving the other.

Here is what I took away from the meeting in short, as I’m trying to condense a 5 hour meeting into a few paragraphs, basically impossible but let me try though the attempt to assimilate this information in a way that is conducive to getting my point across which may be fatal from the onset but I’ll give it a shot.

The approach by James Scott was entirely Machiavellian in nature with the realities that in order to serve the greater good, some contributors fall to the wayside while others are part of the future picture and overall stratagem. Some of the people in the room were tacticians while others were affiliated because they were strategists. The difference between the two in this case were the tacticians were those in the scholastic/analytical field of a lifetime of memorization of previous policy contributors while the strategists were the facilitators of those formulaic tactics by adapting policy and scholastics to the real world environment and current events.

Corporations create the jobs that fuel the local economies which collectively can turn around a domestic economy. Politicians are assisted by lobby organizations and special interest groups in gaining a platform which brings with it the followers that will vote to keep them in office to perform the tasks that will assist in the greater good and put into action the ideas and concepts of the lobbyists as the lobbyists are the ultimate voice of the people. This circle of influence is what fuels economic prosperity and lack of communication between these groups can deteriorate an economy (basically what we are seeing now). The path has been deviated one too many times and the convergence of policy makers and facilitators has been derailed and we find ourselves in international chaos at every front.

This meeting cracked through, captured and set a road map for economic recovery by taking into consideration all the elements and parties as pertaining to this recuperation equation. The incestuous necessity of voter spearheads, legislatures and corporations is a mandatory prerequisite to a growing and stable socio-economic formula that will rebound and flourish. I must admit, the above is a pathetic Cliff Notes version of the meeting and it would take multiple encyclopedia size entries to even attempt, though most likely fatal, to give the reader a modest breakdown of the influential decisions that were made in that room and the positive path we set for real, long-lasting recovery.

As I left the meeting there was a sense of overall ease and a refreshed outlook on the future and for the first time in a long time I actually felt good about the outlook of this country, the west and the global strategies in motion and being configured to make this world a better place for all of us and all this rooted in the strategies formulated by a guy you’ve never heard of and a company you probably couldn’t hire even if you wanted to. It’s a strange world we live in but thanks to leaders such as James Scott (I’m currently researching him and will post more entries about him and his background as new information is made public) who would rather focus on a positive influence then standing in front of cameras as self promoters we will evolve out of this diseased global situation and into one that flourishes for all of us.

Thanks for reading For Public information about James Scott and Princeton Corporate Solutions click here and some Great Information on our global economy more on the above article to come.

Advantages Of Global Expansion – Benefits Of Global Expansion- Brand Expansion

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Corporations of all sizes and genres are finding themselves in the difficult position of expanding as a mandatory necessity as opposed to solely building value as a part of growth strategies. If you find yourself in a position which makes globalization a requirement for survival here are a few things to make the process easier.

When taking your company from strictly a regional or domestic entity and trasnfering your energies into an international formula there are 4 basic elements that you should take into consideration before doing anything: corporate infrastructure, brand, distribution and capitalization.

Corporate infrastructure as far as management, divisions, subsidiaries etc are the first step to planning your expansion. First, cut the dead weight. Management must re-interview for their jobs, divisions and subsidiaries will be eliminated, merged or kept as is. Take into consideration the need for minimal input and maximum output. Where are your highest profit margins, what employees offer the most expertise for the least financial outlay? Make sure that your corporate structure is conducive to scalability and is streamline enough to be considered ‘lean and mean’ in every sense of the term.

As far as your corporate brand you’ll take the foundation you’ve constructed up to the present and infuse it with a plethora of strategic alliances both inter-industry and outside of your immediate industry. Piggyback off of the successes of partners, team up on announcements using various press release and news release vehicles and make it every executives job to be on the lookout for ways to merge and create relationships with other companies with the same goals.

Just as with your corporate infrastructure your distribution process should be perpetuated and expanded with minimal input and maximum result. The best way to do this is to create tight strategic partnerships at both the corporate and legislative levels. Teaming up with companies that are already established distribution mechanisms in the global marketplace and creating win/win situations will make growth via alliances quick and easy. Offer them an exclusive distribution on a new cutting edge widget or service that your company is offering. Offer them some free promotion by including them in your media package or publicity submissions. At the legislative level this is most important in industrializing nations such as China, India and western Europe. In these regions politicians act as powerbrokers for commerce and getting in with them can be vital to creating long lasting and profitable localized strategies and relationships.

Lastly, capitalization is the most crucial of all elements because without it, none of the above can be facilitated. Maximizing profitability without sacrificing quality, customer services or turnaround time is the name of the game. Cutting costs internally is typically what needs to be done here as well as minimizing marketing and promotional costs by streamlining your efforts with joint promotional ventures and the above described strategic alliances.

Take Company Public And Stay Away From Politicians: Like Spiders Spinning Cocoons Around Your Kids

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

When I turn on the TV I’m bombarded with images of senate hearings, global finance leaders, hedge fund CEOs and of course the do nothing politicians we pay to protect us. And when I see them now, I no longer see them as humans like you and me. They are an entirely separate specie. Worse than vampires they feed off of the existence of you, me and our children.

These power players are nothing more than spiders spinning cocoons around our souls and sucking the life out of us all. Before your children have a chance to choose an occupation, university or spouse, these cancerous imps have already begun to roll your child in a paralyzing cocoon tomb where they will proceed to slowly gnaw away at their very essence.

You and I are to blame because we just sit there and watch the idiot box while it all happens. The same banking institutions that are taking our tax dollars to fund multimillion dollar CEO salaries are the ones we go to in order to cash our weekly paychecks. The same crooked, do nothing politicians that rob us blind and are on the take are the people we vote for to keep in office. Wealth management advisers that we trust to take our money and invest so that we can live a few years after the government is through with us are brokering their fund to Madoff con artists and back stabbers.

We say we want change, we though Obama was it but it’s obvious he’s just another hand puppet whose actions are paid off by special interest groups and big oil imps. If you’re a business owner and are serious about change, take your fate into your own hands. When you are looking for funding, stop using banks and institutional succubi.

Take your company to the people with a private placement memorandum or take your company public on the OTCBB. If you have a good business model, then raise money by allowing the populace to profit off of your process. You’d be shocked how quickly you raise money when you offer opportunity to people who are looking for it.

Ipo Investors, IPO Investor & IPO Lists

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Investors who are able to achieve higher yields on their investments take a different approach to growing their portfolio than most. Of course they use a broker and/or investment adviser for information on transactions but will typically make their investment decisions based off of their own collective research.

The reality is the few that have gained a comprehension for seeking out and getting involved with trades that open the floodgates to massive profits use their own money and operate as part of a small, tight knit group. The members of this ‘group’ always have their feelers out like tentacles sucking up and analyzing potential transactions, immediately looking for strategic elements and immediately dumping 99% as they don’t meet the criteria.

Two major components that professional investors who use their own money and are able to consistently pick winning transactions are companies that are in merger and/or acquisition mode and companies that are seeking seed capital specifically to go public.

Let’s focus on the latter. Companies seeking seed capital to go public are often financially viable companies with modest liquidity but are taking on seed investors so that they can meet the SEC minimum criteria of having 40 investors on the books to qualify for going public. Investors that are able to, literally, make millions per transaction have a way of getting into these opportunities by connecting with consultants who take companies public. If you are able to get involved with these consulting firms and if you have some capital to designate as a seed investor, you can literally be placed in 4,5 or even 6+ pre IPO investments per year. When you are one of the 40 investors in a pre public OTCBB corporation you are usually investing seed capital at a fraction of the future public price. The difference between what you pay for the seed stock and what the company charges per share when public is the profit.

It isn’t at all out of the ordinary to buy seed stock at 50 cents and have that stock gain in value of $1.00 to $1.50 when the company goes public and yes, you just made 50 cents to $1.00 net profit on each share (note: seed prices and opening prices vary). The great thing is you can often invest as a seed investor with as little as $5,000 to $10,000. If you have more capital you can spread it out over multiple pre-IPO opportunities. Seek out the pre- public companies and make your investments worth

Advantages Of Taking Company Public – Take My Company Public

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

When the principles of a company make the decision to go public there are many things to take into consideration. First and foremost, trying to wade through the pariah infested waters of the OTCBB, Investor Relations and strategic growth strategies on your own is a guaranteed suicide mission and you’ll fail. Find a consultant who understands your business and has the contacts to create a turnkey solution to take you from public to private and all the other necessities you’re company is going to need to make it.

As part of your consultant pre qualifications here are the niches you’re the consultant absolutely must be well versed in order for your company to succeed with the public offering and a solid trading volume post public. Better yet, here is what you’re going to need so you can measure your questions against this list when qualifying the consultants to see who is the best fit.

First you’re company will need structuring. What I mean by structuring is that you’ll need to put a sturdy skeletal structure together to carry around your corporate bag of bones, an iron clad skeletal structure would consist of: board of directors with esteemed educational and professional pedigrees and proven track records for assisting companies in your particular genre with getting to the next level from the level your company is currently at pre public. You also need powerful strategic alliances that will increase your name recognition and overall market awareness by affiliations with inter-industry powerhouses. Use strategic partners for promotion, expansion, resellers, referrals, service and product brokering, name recognition, and more.

Talk to your accountant about your corporate structure. Delaware C corporations are a sturdy home state for public companies as the states statutes go back to the original 13 colonies and offer optimal protection and case law to support a growing public company. Some oversees companies prefer Nevada for their quick fix to the foreign owned company problem but ask your accountant and attorney to give you the pros and cons. Statutory domicile will be the advantage to the home of your corporation but if you are operating in another state you’ll still need to file locally while the state of incorporation can offer legislative support from previous case law history. Don’t believe that you won’t have to pay taxes if you incorporate in Nevada, this simply isn’t the case. Read up on this and then get the real deal from your attorney.

Every public company needs solid CEO, CFO, COO, Board of directors, Board of Advisors, Strategic Partnerships to start off. Now, when you have the above you need to start working on monetize-able purchase orders and offering net terms to your clients, in other words start building your book of business aggressively by offering credit terms. This will make you a stronger company and when investors see your mountain of purchase orders they’ll be impressed and will be more apt to invest. General signed contracts will typically have too many contingencies to have an impact as contracts are not very enforceable whereas purchase orders are like currency and can be monetized if your company finds itself in a crunch. This shows investors that you’re prepared for the ups and downs ahead.

Now after you’ve gone through the s1 comments with the SEC and the 15c211 has been filed by a market maker with FINRA, let’s assume you have your trading symbol and you’re ready to start selling shares. You are going to need a powerful, expensive, rock solid investor relations and market build strategy. Don’t use a pump and dump house as if you do so you will never recuperate. Instead your IR strategy should include: phone room support for announcing your company to industry insiders to create awareness (not selling stock), solid, opt-in email alerts to seasoned, accredited investors looking for stock in your industry, press releases should go out to announce everything from a new executive hire to an new contract to a new strategic partner and anything else that will give you a reason to notify the public on your company’s growth. Expert panel reviews for your C level executives to talk about the industry as an expert insider promote the company to the masses where they will get to see first hand the massive knowledge you possess about your industry which may prompt listeners to investigate your stock for a potential purchase. Don’t forget about viral publicity through high pr video, social bookmarks, blog entry, articles and the prototypical twitter, facebook, myspace and Linkedin properties.

Going public should be part of an overall strategy for expansion as opposed to having a go to just ‘go public’ to raise money.

Globalization Consultants – Mergers And Acquisitions – Organic Growth Is Not Enough

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

In a perfect world public and large private companies could experience rapid growth by simply treating their client base right and taking and gradually making more transactions to increase revenues to subsidize the additional costs of more locations, employees etc. This is fine if you’re only trying to build a company worth a few million and then fold up when you’re ready to retire.

But if you are looking to build a legacy company that you can hand down to generations, create jobs, expand globally and constantly have a steady stream of purchase and merger offers as a safety net, you need to grow through acquisition and the best way to raise the capital for this process is to go public.

Going public is a technical process where the post public promotion referred to as IR or Investor Relations is the key to stabilizing and growing your share price. Limit the volume of shares for public consumption, pump out maximum publicity, make brokers and investors comb the planet to find available shares and force the price to grow by leaps and bounds by creating demand.

When you need funding use PIPES and pay off the loan so the PIPE firm doesn’t liquidate the shares onto the market, get those shares back. I had a client email me a letter he got from a Do It Yourself investor relations firm. They claim to be able to train CEOs of public companies to take care of the IR campaigns for companies on the London, OTCBB and Pink Sheets. The claim that they can teach you to never need the services of an IR firm again and my response to this client was….Um…Are you an idiot? I guess I was a little upset since I own five percent of the company that he was proposing this DIY solution for IR.

Here is the deal. You need to three basic things to have a solid investor relations campaign. First you need a Pump solution. Don’t confuse pump with pump and dump. Remember, you always want to limit the shares put out to the public but you need to pump public demand and hunger for your shares to keep the price where it’s high enough to use as collateral for loans to subsidize growth without having to release more shares onto the market.

Next you need volume. Keep the shares that are in the market place moving. Hold corporate shares to your chest and keep the shares in the public moving, without volume you won’t be able to do anything with your stock. Don’t mistake the concept of creating volume with releasing shares into the public to create cash. Last but not least you need to be in the public eye. You need to have a publicist that will get you on industry expert panels on radio, tv, blogs, podcasts and every publicity medium in between. Get your CEOs face, company name and trading symbol on the bottom corner of everything including but not limited to the bicep and forearm of every sales executive in the company. Ok maybe that’s a bit much but my point is an organization that stands together behind their CEO is an organization that will survive and thrive.

These were just a few of the points that one needs to consider when going public, trying to stay public and promoting a public company. In this industry the old conviction of . . . Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see is the golden rule.

Advantages Of Going Public – Why Take Company Public

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Click on the TV and you’ll see them, faces like the Joker with ceramic smiles plastered onto their face. Using the name of Jesus and romantic concepts of fighting in wars and existing at deaths door while he fought for his country is the general MO of any politician. But what happens when we enter into the endless tunnels of the rabbit hole where these Jokers exist? Among the cobwebs, rotting carcasses filth is a den where they all congregate. Kissing babies and speaking at the Rotary Club are just strokes of makeup on the faces of these right snatching villains. The reality of how unqualified these professional politicians are should scare the tar out of all of us. Of course we are having issues with our monetary system, the people who are running our government’s finance divisions have a minimal background in the subject. Of course our men and women are dying abroad in wars that we don’t need to be in, the politicians don’t understand what it’s like to lose a child because their kid is in the National Guard on Cape Cod whale watching duty. It’s a joke.

The ones who get hurt the most in our country are the entrepreneurs that keep taking a lickin but keep on tickin, but how long until the prototypical American entrepreneur begins to lose hope and lose steam and one can only tread water for so long before you begin to sink. We have second and third generation wealth in congress and the senate, what do they know about starting a company with blood, sweat and tears only to lose it to a loophole the IRS uses to freeze their assets and steal their business away? FDIC backed banks are just as guilty for the crumbling of our economy. We live in a society whose hierarchy has determined that the best way to keep the population out of politics and blind to the reality of how economically damned we are is to keep us busy working 80 hours per week so that we can’t look up to discover that we’re no longer in the blessed land of our forefathers but we’ve fallen through Hades and into the fiery pit of hell.

Here is a revolutionary idea, actually it’s not so revolutionary at all, quit using elements distributed like free crack by the system. Sure it’s a highly addictive concept, we pay taxes and because we do so we should have access to certain rights, but most Americans are seeing this from the wrong perspective because they are like lambs to the slaughter as they are guided to the conclusions set forth by the establishment and the pawns used to target certain demographics. Here is my not so revolutionary idea, sure, use the system for what you can get out of it, you won’t get much but hey, it’s worth a shot, but instead of waiting on politicians and their backing lap monkeys to come up with strategies to issue loans, kick them to the curb, bring in an aggressive Tea Party player and while they are getting established be part of the transformation of the system by opening up your small and medium size company to public investment.

There is a huge misconception fueled by the governments mastery of overgeneralization that only gargantuan size companies can go public, this is far from the truth. If you have revenues of $500k or more, you can go public on the OTCBB, London and/or Frankfurt exchanges. Stay away from the Pink Sheets as this is not a platform for a company with longevity at the forefront of their mind.

Bring on a consultant who understands scalability and globalization and they will put together a process that will rock your world and fill up your bank account with the cash you need and easy cross collateralization of securities to keep you out of the ‘bank’ business and into the realm of global profitability and industry niche power. Take control of your corporate and economic fate. You deserve it so do your children and employees. Step out of the systematic droning of society and take control. It’s actually quite simple to do.

Over The Counter Bulletin Board, God And Machine Guns: Global Finance And Acid Rain

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Strange title I know but how else do you describe what is going on in the global finance scene. With the master weave of God and Country which equal patriotism and prosperity, what happens when it all collapses? Chaos! It would be great to believe that there are a few men in a locked room somewhere who were controlling this economic collapse and in just a matter of time they would flip a switch and it would all be ok again but none of us are nave enough to believe such a backwards conspiracy theory.

The truth is far worse. The world bank creates money starting with digital imprints on a computer screen, a little money to reel in the third world, import western goods that they can’t afford, create a situation of debt and bam, we control another country and blame it on the World Bank and the IMF and all these numbers on a screen take a shape of their own in the minds of the global populace as ‘truth’. By truth I mean the international population accepts these numbers that are nothing more than a digital expression of a think tank drone that has been trained to believe that people are pawns and that government fractions within governments is just the way it is.

But people have lost the confidence in those imaginative numbers on the screen. People have lost hope that there is someone on the other side looking out for their interests to make sure that there are jobs, a paycheck and food on the table.

Mainstream confidence in the economic powers that be is disintegrating like a sugar cube in boiling water. With our military fighting battles on multiple fronts, men, women and children have to fight to keep the governments grimy claws out of their back pockets. The Fed, top tier investment banking gurus and global financial demigods just sit and slobber at senate hearings as they, just as we know that they are all for show. The government will use this to distract global citizens until the next distraction is placed on the board and the underhanded motivations of crooked power players will have their way again.

Between the crumbling of this economic house of cards, absence of God and global warming who can step in and save us? The answer is, good old fashioned entrepreneurialship. You, me and the small business down the street. Stop looking to institutional and governmental solutions. They’ll promise you a dollar and steal your soul.

OTCBB – OTC – How To Take A Company Public The Right Way

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

As the global economy becomes more uncertain, entrepreneurs and CEOs are evaluating their fundraising strategies as traditional institutional lenders and government grants are become less available. For solid companies with profits there is a strong possibility of going public.

Pink Sheets aren’t very appealing to investors so these otc pink sheet companies can rarely stay in existence post public and the NASDAQ is a platform in which few can qualify so for companies seeking a rapid public offering of the pinks and the legitimacy of the NASDAQ the OTCBB (over the counter bulletin boards) is a viable option. The process can take from 3 to 6 months for a direct s1 filing and if it’s a real company getting the market maker to file the 15c211 is not that big of an issue as long as the initial audit and S1 filing went through without a hitch.

Post public operations are a completely different story and the investor relations strategy can and will make or break your ability to succeed in the public realm.

A strong investor relations campaign should contain a few central components: general corporate publicity, publicity wraps that go around each ‘C’ level executive to create the ‘expert’ label with your key staff, phone room communication to brokers to notify them on the ins and outs and what’s coming up for your company, stock alerts keeping seasoned traders up to speed with your stock position and information, press releases, keeping an eye out for and announcing the potential acquisitions and don’t forget about viral media (video, bookmarks, articles etc). One other thing is to hire a solid publicist who can get you on radio and television expert panel interview sessions as well as getting mentioned in journals and news papers.

All of the above is absolutely crucial to surviving and thriving in your post public life. One other thing, keep an eye out for solid strategic alliances who have multiple synergies that overlap with your business model. This is an important element for domestic and international growth and investor appeal.

Take Your Business Public Successfully: The Spoke Wheel Approach

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

The ‘Spoke Wheel’ Approach To Taking Your Company Public.

A public corporation, just as a private company is composed of several contributing factors that dictate the outcome of its success. If you visualize your corporate entity as the ‘hub’ of the wheel and each spoke as a ‘contributing asset’ to the company you’ll find that the more spokes in the wheel, the more weight the wheel can carry as its strength rests on scores of unified connections working together, each with one simultaneous point of interest, the hub.

These hub connections can be anything that contributes to the overall success and perpetual, yet controlled, growth strategy of the company such as: a dozen strategic partnerships that act as growing distribution channels for your product or service, finance alliances that take care of your growth capital needs, multiple legal professionals that you can tap into for advise and corporate strategies, dozens of companies within your industry that focus on a different element of the industry but cooperate as a referral source for new business and on and on.

Your goal, in creating a solid, strategically aligned pre public and post public corporation is to keep building spokes and bringing on partners and executives that can instantly contribute to adding more strategic alliances and growth enhancers to your ever evolving and emerging corporate wheel.

If you are a public company, partnerships that you should have heavily represented in your model should be securities attorneys, market makers and broker dealers, several publicists with different areas of media focus, viral publicists, investor relations facilitators and service providers etc. Don’t forget the political contacts and padding contacts. By ‘padding’ I mean contacts that may serve no active role other than having some big names affiliated with your company that can gain attention within and outside your specific industry genre.
